Inspired by poetry

The painting was originally inspired by the poem and ballad ‘Three Fishers’ which was written in 1851 by Charles Kingsley. The poem was set to music by composer John Hullah and has been sung by many different musicians over the years. Download a copy of the poem here Three Fishers poem.
